Greetings Friends,
First I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Scott Stokes and I am the newly chosen leader of Charity Music Inc - Oklahoma Chapter. My music career began thirty six years ago. I have played guitar for those thirty six years, mandolin for sixteen of them. I have toured locally, regionally, and nationally. My latest release was with the acoustic duo Lawn Jockey titled "Jethro's Revenge". The album was released in 1999 and remains to this date on iTunes, MusicMatch, Rhapsody, Amazon.com, Borders Books & Music, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, CDFreedom.com, and CDBaby.com
Additionally, I am a BMI songwriter/composer, and will be working on a project in the new year (2008) entitled "Sunday Best". The project will take the twelve best Sunday church singers from across the state of Oklahoma into the studio to record and release an album of old standards and hymns, as well as original works from these amazing voices. I have been chosen to provide 6 & 12 sting acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and mandolin for these recordings.
I also have a NEW musicians forum on the web that is unlike most. Our mission is to bring musician/dealer/manufacturer/service provider together to receive accurate information concerning every facet a musician may encounter in their musical careers...from beginner...to digital distribution of original work(s).
It is here that Tone Mavens Musicians Forum (TMMF) and Charity Music Inc (CMI) came together. TMMF has partnered with CMI to further this great cause. Today, I became the sole drop off location for donations within Oklahoma. I will be adding more locations in the coming days, through contacts (both musician and dealer) across the Sooner state.
I encourage each of you to register at TMMF. I have created a sub-forum in which questions concerning the charity may be asked and answered...and suggestions on how to make it succeed can be tendered. Roger is onboard on TMMF to answer specific questions, and my position there is to grow recruits around the nation to ensure CMIs success.
