SPECIAL THANKS for the over 15,316 votes that were cast for Charity Music in the State Farm competition.
Charity Music is proud to announce that we were a finalist in the State Farm Cause An Effect Grant Program. Our submission "Give the Gift of Music" was in the top 100 nationwide, of over 3000 entries submitted. The top 40 with the most Community Support will receive a $25,000 Grant.
UNOFFICIAL RESULTS BASED ON CHARITY MUSIC ESTIMATES
The Charity Music organization provides musical instruments and music instruction at no charge to at-risk and disadvantaged youth wishing to explore their hidden musical talents. Instruments are provided on loan and are returned when no longer needed. It is an ongoing cycle which allows instruments to be used by a greater amount of individuals.
In addition, musical instruments and music related items are also made available to VA facilities nationwide in support of music therapy and recreation programs.
Individuals, as well as musical instrument manufacturers have been very generous in donating instruments. The obstacle which is very hard to overcome is the maintenance and repair of the instruments that are being donated.
The funds would be used to establish a musical instrument repair and training center. In addition to providing youth development opportunities and learning skills, it would also help reduce some of the financial burdens placed on local school band programs.
